To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, how many Blue Badges were issued in England in 2023.

There were 1.14 million badges issued between 1 April 2022 and 31 March 2023, an increase of 101,000 badges (9.7%) on the previous year. These figures include badges issued followed reapplications from existing badge holders.

Secretary of State was originally the title given to the two officials who conducted the Royal Correspondence under Elizabeth I. Now it is the title held by some of the more important Government Ministers, for example the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs.
