To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, how much funding his Department (a) allocated for and (b) spent on magazine subscriptions in each of the last three financial years.

A full departmental response could only be provided at disproportionate cost. The total cost of magazine subscriptions spend that was readily available for the last three years is £4,032.04.

Secretary of State

Secretary of State was originally the title given to the two officials who conducted the Royal Correspondence under Elizabeth I. Now it is the title held by some of the more important Government Ministers, for example the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs.
