To ask the Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero, if she will make an estimate of the amount of agricultural land previously used for food production that is being used for solar installations.

The Department does not hold this information. However, the Renewable Energy Planning Database tracks the progress of UK renewable electricity projects through the planning system. Whilst it does not specify the expected area for each project, nor its previous use, it does provide as accurate a view as possible of renewable projects.
