To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, what discussions his Department has had with bus operators who are not included in the national bus fare cap scheme in Shropshire.
Guy Opperman
Parliamentary Under-Secretary (Department for Transport)
The Department for Transport has worked to encourage as many eligible bus operators to join the £2 fare cap as possible. I recently wrote to all bus operators that we believe have eligible services, but are not currently participating in the fare cap, asking them to consider joining the scheme.

Secretary of State was originally the title given to the two officials who conducted the Royal Correspondence under Elizabeth I. Now it is the title held by some of the more important Government Ministers, for example the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs.
