To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, if he will make it his policy for NHS England to require (a) Clinical Commissioning Groups and (b) NHS trusts that have formularies which do not list all of the medical devices available on Part IX of the Drug Tariff to issue guidance to clinicians on their ability to prescribe the most appropriate medical device available through that tariff and to include a link to that tariff online.

The Government has no plans to change current policies. Decisions about the provision of medical devices available on Part IX of the Drug Tariff are a matter for local clinical commissioning groups and National Health Service trusts, taking account of the needs of their local populations.
