To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, what the target for the reduction of nitrogen dioxide pollutants in the air for 2019 is.

There are two statutory limits for nitrogen dioxide pollutants, an hourly mean limit value of 200 micrograms per metre cubed (μg) and an annual mean limit value of 40 μg. There are no specific targets for 2019.

Secretary of State was originally the title given to the two officials who conducted the Royal Correspondence under Elizabeth I. Now it is the title held by some of the more important Government Ministers, for example the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs.
