To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department what representations she has received from Sussex police on enforcement of laws preventing female genital mutilation; and if she will make a statement.

Female genital mutilation is an extremely harmful practice which the coalition Government is committed to tackling. Neither the Secretary of State for the Home Department, Mrs May, nor I have received any representations from Sussex police on enforcement of laws preventing female genital mutilation.
