To ask the Secretary of State for Transport when he plans to respond to recommendations made by the expert panel on drug driving.

On 9 July the Department for Transport published a consultation on the Government's proposals to specify the drugs and their limits to be included in the new drug driving offence. This consultation considers the Expert Panel's recommendations and sets out the Government's response.

The Government has accepted all of the controlled drugs recommended by the Panel and the limits for eight of the drugs. The Government has also set out the reasons for taking a tougher approach to illegal drugs than the Expert Panel recommended. I therefore take the view that the consultation is also a considered response to the Expert Panel's recommendations.
