To ask the Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills how many officials in his Department travelled by economy class train in (a) 2009, (b) 2010, (c) 2011 and (d) 2012; and what the cost to the public purse was in each such year.

The number of standard (economy) class rail journeys taken by BIS staff and the costs for these journeys are as follows:
