The Secretary of State for Northern Ireland, my right hon. Friend Mrs Villiers, met Professor Michael O'Flaherty, Chief Commissioner of the Northern Ireland Human Rights Commission, on 19 November 2012. We continue to liaise regularly with the Commission at both ministerial and official level on areas of mutual interest. Sponsorship and oversight of the Equality Commissioner for Northern Ireland is in the main a matter for the devolved Administration. While neither the Secretary of State nor I have yet had the opportunity to meet the Commissioner we look forward to doing so.
