To ask Her Majesty’s Government, further to the answer by Lord Wallace of Saltaire on 9 July, whether they are collecting first-hand witness accounts to establish the truth about the alleged genocide and crimes against humanity in South Kordofan and Blue Nile; and, if not, why not.

The Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, my right hon. Friend the Member for Richmond (Yorks) (Mr Hague). made it clear that at the start of the conflict that the situation in Southern Kordofan and Blue Nile deserves a Full and credible independent investigation. We continue to believe that is the right course to take when circumstances and access allow it.
