To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions what support is available to those in the support group of employment and support allowance who wish to voluntarily undertake employment support.

ESA claimants in the support group can access support from Jobcentre Plus and the Work programme on a voluntary basis.

For claimants with more complex needs which cannot be met through the Work programme, they can access a range of specialist disability employment provision such as Work Choice and Access to Work.

Secretary of State

Secretary of State was originally the title given to the two officials who conducted the Royal Correspondence under Elizabeth I. Now it is the title held by some of the more important Government Ministers, for example the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs.
