QNR – Senedd Cymru am ar 17 Gorffennaf 2024.
I spoke to the new Secretary of State on Tuesday 9 July, and we discussed our mutual desire for improved relations and good collaborative working, going forward.
The Welsh Government is committed to tackling potential pollution associated with historical waste disposal sites. Our overarching drivers are the protection of human health and the environment. We continue to provide the regulatory framework to support local authorities and Natural Resources Wales to address sites suspected of causing pollution.
We are supporting all local authorities to meet net-zero targets across a range of programmes, strategically through the WLGA Climate Support Programme, the Partnership Council for Wales and the local government climate strategy panel, and practically through expertise from the Welsh Government Energy Service.
The Welsh Government provides a wide range of direct and indirect support. Our grants for investment in on-farm improvements, equipment and technology, the learning and development on offer from Farming Connect, or the advice from our own farm liaison service, for example, demonstrate our commitment to supporting a sustainable future for Welsh agriculture.
