I considered whether the Senedd Cymru (Members and Elections) Bill should be referred once the Bill was passed, as I do with all Bills, and I concluded it was not necessary. The Senedd Cymru (Electoral Candidate Lists) Bill is currently at stage 1, so this is not the moment to undertake that consideration.

The First Minister travelled to Mumbai on 9 May to meet with senior executives from Tata Steel, where he made the case to retain blast furnace steel making at Port Talbot and avoid compulsory redundancies.

The 4 July election will be the largest UK election requiring voter ID, which has had a negative impact on our democracy by disengaging and disenfranchising voters. We are focusing on increasing participation and will never introduce voter ID requirements to devolved elections.
