Mohammad Yasin: What progress he is making on the roll-out of universal credit.
Mohammad Yasin: A recently bereaved constituent of mine, a working single parent, has seen her income reduced by £300 a month since transferring to universal credit. For her, work does not pay. Will the Secretary of State urgently review the link between agreement to support payments and universal credit, and will he stop the roll-out until he has done so?
Mohammad Yasin: What action is the Prime Minister taking to ensure that my constituents, many of whom are paying in excess of £5000 to travel to London every year, get a better service, not the one that the new plans under her Government will introduce? Under those plans the people of Bedford will lose the inter-city rail services.
Mohammad Yasin: No, you don’t.
Mohammad Yasin: The Rohingya were the loyal allies of Britain in world war two and now they face their darkest hour. Will the Minister give us a clear answer? Will the Government make representations to the UN Security Council, calling for its immediate intervention to protect the Rohingya?
Mohammad Yasin: To ask the Secretary of State for Justice, when Bedford employment tribunal court is expected to close; which bodies were (a) consulted on and (b) notified of the proposal to close that court; what court services will remain in Bedford after that closure; and if he will publish any documents relating to that closure.
Mohammad Yasin: I have read the report, which is very good. As a former taxi driver, I know how taxi drivers operate and the issues that they face along with passengers. Cross-border hiring is a massive issue. The report says that there has been a 30% reduction of income for drivers in London, but in other areas it is even bigger. Mohammad Yasin: I am going to do so. I have another meeting to go to, so I have to make the point now. Does my hon. Friend agree that there should be a cap not only on vehicles but on private hire drivers’ licences?

One main issue that is very important but is not mentioned in the report is the safety of drivers. Drivers are very vulnerable, especially at night time, and if they have four or five passengers in their car they can get a lot of abuse.
