Your MP (Abena Oppong-Asare) represents you, and all of the people who live in Erith and Thamesmead, at the UK Parliament in Westminster.
MPs split their time between Parliament and their constituency. In Parliament, they debate and vote on new laws, review existing laws, and question the Government. Decisions made under the Act may be subject to judicial review. The Government currently has no plans to change this. All acquisitions considered under the NSI Act are assessed on a case by case basis, taking account of all relevant considerations.
The collection of any data with regard to breaches of the Civil Service Code would be a matter for individual departments.
Impartiality, and in particular political impartiality, is one of the values of the Civil Service Code. It is a contractual obligation for civil servants to abide by the Code. Impartiality means civil servants must serve the Government, whatever its political persuasion, to the best of their ability.
