On 22 March we published our skills White Paper. It set out our plans for improving adult learning, including the national roll-out of the entitlement to free tuition to NVQ level 2. A vital part of those plans is building the capacity of colleges to deliver benefits for employers and individuals. Over the next five years, we are investing £1.5 billion in capital to support the transformation of the further education sector.

Dear Ruth Kelly
We ahev a predicament. My daughter is now 19 and just finished NVQ 2 having already taken GCSE's and A'Levels at Grammar School. SHe has been now been told that the Government has axed post 19 education. She needs NVQ level 3 to succeed in her chosen career.
We were not told at any level that her further education would end she'd joined the college straight from school with the intention of gaining her NVQ 3 as was promoted by teh college. She had the entry qualification for BTec but the college did not run it.
What does she do now? She is a diabetic Dependant on insulin has been since she was 7 years old. Her carrer was with the fact of her limitations in mind.
Can you advise how we get funding for this Level 3
This is so important to her, she is considering changing her career, what a shame. She has been totally commited. I have contacted the College concerned and they are getting back to me regrading this next step. Where can we get funding to continue her education and career. Would she have to self employed? for Millenium funding ? or Duke of Edinburgh's award what do we do.
