Did your ruling take into account what the Lord Chancellor said on television last night, Mr. Speaker? Clearly, that must influence your decision one way or the other. If the Lord Chancellor has compounded what we think was a grave error of judgment, we shall regard him, and say so in the House, as just a rather expensive party-political hack.
