Part of Oral Answers to Questions — Pensions and National Insurance – in the House of Commons am 12:00 am ar 22 Mehefin 1964.
Is my right hon. Friend aware that his decision to initiate an independent inquiry will give great satisfaction to both sides of the House, particularly as nearly 500 hon. Members signed a Motion standing on the Order Paper in my name and the names of my hon. Friends? May I also on behalf of the members of the British limbless Ex-Service Men's Association thank him for the courtesy and patience which he has shown to them in this matter? Has he anything in mind in regard to the time factor in this matter, as to the pace of the inquiry, when a conclusion may be reached and above all the final steps, when the Government may make an announcement?
