I desire this morning to direct the attention of the House to events which have recently been taking place in Poland and which point unmistakably to a renewal of the persecution of the Christian Church in that country. The Roman Catholic Church, which the majority of Polish people acknowledge, has been the chief object and target of this new outbreak—
