asked the Financial Secretary to the Treasury in how many cases in the last three years have pensions been refused to civil servants who declined to remain in the Service after the usual retiring age; and in how many cases have such pensions subsequently been granted.

Is it not a deplorable fact that the right hon. Gentleman's Department has not got the necessary information in order to answer Members of Parliament.
