asked the Minister of Fuel and Power if he will give an estimate of the number of parishes in which there is only one petrol pump; and what steps he intends to take to permit users of motor vehicles in these parishes to purchase petrol for private and commercial purposes.

I regret that we can give no estimate of the number of parishes with only one petrol pump. Measures to mitigate inconvenience to owners of motor vehicles in areas where the number of petrol pumps is limited are under consideration.

Can the Parliamentary Secretary say when they will be published? Will it be before the consideration of the Bill?

They will be published as soon as possible, and certainly before the introduction of standard petrol.

Will the Parliamentary Secretary consider granting extra petrol to motorists who have to go a long way to get their petrol?

That is one of the points we are looking at.
