asked the Secretary of State for War whether the Lewis Committee on Court Martial Procedure has yet reported; and whether the report will be published as soon as possible after its receipt.

My right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Air and I have just received this report, which we have not yet had time to study. After studying the report I will consider in consultation with my colleagues when it will be convenient to publish it, but I am not in a position to make any forecast at the moment.

Will the right hon. Gentleman consider the possibility of amending the Army and Air Force (Annual) Act some time before the Annual Bill ordinarily next comes before the House, so that improvements can be brought into operation as soon as possible?

That requires very careful consideration.
