asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he will take steps to ensure that the whole of the remission of Entertainments Duty, as it applies to theatres, is passed on to patrons in the form of a reduction in the price of seats.

While realising that it may not be possible to pass on the whole of the remission in every case to the public, I hope that the remission will be passed on wherever possible.
