Oral Answers to Questions — Scotland – in the House of Commons am 12:00 am ar 13 Ebrill 1948.
asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if transport workers, engaged in transporting miners to and from their work, will be eligible for houses to be erected for the mining population in mining areas.
The special programmes of miners' houses, which have been arranged in consultation with the National Coal Board, are intended for pit workers directly engaged in the production of coal. It is open to the local authority of a mining area to give special consideration, within their general housing programme, to the claims of the transport workers to which the hon. Member refers.
Will the right hon. Gentleman direct the attention of local authorities to the fact that 'bus workers are eligible for these houses?
