asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs f he has considered the Memorandum presented by the Refugees Defence Committee, protesting against the return of political refugees to Yugoslavia; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
Yes, Sir. The points raised by the Refugees Defence Committee have been carefully considered, and a deputation from the Committee has been received, but I have at present nothing to add to the reply given to the hon. and gallant Member for Lewes (Major Beamish) on 22nd March.
As that reply was not very satisfactory would the hon. Gentleman say whether in his opinion, these refugees, if they go back to Yugoslavia, will meet with justice?
The question as to the justice which will be received by these men on their return has of course, led us to consider with unusual care whether or not there is a prima facie case against them.
