– in the House of Commons am 12:00 am ar 8 Ebrill 1948.
asked the Minister of Health what advice he is giving to civil defence organisations for dealing with flash burns resulting from atomic bomb explosions.
Opportunity has been taken in lectures to doctors to deal with the treatment of flash burn, and advice is being included in a first-aid handbook now in preparation.
Is the Minister aware of the suggestion made by the right hon. Gentleman the Member for the Scottish Universities (Sir J. Anderson) that brown paper is a form of protection against these burns, and is he passing this advice on to the local authorities?
I am not able to offer any effective comment on the technical value of the advice given.
