Mr. Vane:
asked the Minister of Health for what reasons he has delayed six months giving his approval to Westmorland County Council's application to erect two flats in Kendal for midwives.
Alternative proposals have been under consideration and this has held up the project. I have now given instructions that the matter is to be investigated and settled forthwith.
Mr. Vane:
Does the Minister really feel that this matter is settled, because, while it is easy to have a delay of six months in his Department, it is not so easy to delay the work to be done by the mid-wives?
I have already said that the matter is settled.
