Oral Answers to Questions — Armed Forces – in the House of Commons am 12:00 am ar 5 Tachwedd 1947.
asked the Minister of Defence the total acreage of land in the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland at present occupied by the Armed Forces of the Crown and the corresponding figure at a convenient date in 1938.
The area now occupied is rather less than 1,050,000 acres, as compared with about 310,000 acres in 1938.
May I ask the Minister of Defence' if he will arrange for the Armed Forces to occupy all the land in this country, and then hand it over to the people?
Would the right hon. Gentleman inform the hon. Member for Hornchurch (Mr. Bing) that Northern Ireland is part of the United Kingdom, which he does not seem to know.
