Can the Parliamentary Secretary give us any indication of what particular points are holding up these negotiations?

There are many and varied financial questions under discussion. Scottish Aviation Ltd. is not a willing seller, and the negotiations are a little difficult.

Is my hon. Friend aware that at Prestwick workers are employed making a luxury aircraft for the Crown Prince of Belgium, including a cocktail bar, and will he see that these men are otherwise engaged?

Does the hon. Gentleman realise that this matter has been outstanding for over 12 months? Surely, something ought to have been done? Have token payments been made in the meantime?

Negotiations commenced in April, 1946. Of course, there are powers of compulsory purchase but one does not wish to use them. It is far better if we can proceed by negotiation. Interim payments have been made for services rendered as those services have been rendered. Payments have been made quarterly.
