asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will take steps to ensure that the B.B.C. allot more time for the National Savings Movement.
I have been asked to reply. As my hon. Friend is aware, it is the policy of His Majesty's Government to allow the B.B.C. independence in the compilation of broadcast programmes. I am, however, glad to note that the Corporation are giving reasonable facilities for National Savings broadcasts and I am confident that they can be relied upon to continue to do so in the national interest.
