asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Civil Aviation, when an air service will be started to serve the West of England and Cornwall.

I have nothing further to add to the reply I gave the hon. Member on 6th August last, when I said that a service between London and Cornwall is not planned for the current year 1947–48, and the airports to be used when the service is introduced have not yet been decided.

As the Government appear to be incapable of producing this service, will the Minister consider introducing the necessary legislation to amend the Civil Aviation Act so that private enterprise can produce it?

That does not arise from this Question.

Before the final arrangements are made, will the Minister see that special consideration is given to the needs and difficulties of the service to the Isles of Scilly?

Yes, Sir, and the hon. and learned Gentleman will know that there has been correspondence between us on the subject A meeting has been arranged between all who are interested and I hope that meeting will be to the mutual satisfaction of all concerned.
