Oral Answers to Questions — Royal Air Force – in the House of Commons am 12:00 am ar 2 Gorffennaf 1947.
asked the Secretary of State for Air if he will make application to His Majesty's Consul General at Naples to furnish the death certificates in the case of British subjects killed in the air accident on the Isle of Ischia on 8th March, 1947.
I am glad to assure the hon. Baronet that an application for the death certificates of the British subjects killed at Ischia was made to His Majesty's Consul-General at Naples without delay. Various difficulties and misunderstandings arose, but I hope that they have now been removed or overcome.
While thanking the right hon. Gentleman for his reply, may I ask if he will bear in mind that the widows cannot get their pensions until the death certificates are given? Will he treat the matter as one of urgency?
Yes, Sir. The Foreign Office have sent instructions to try to secure that this shall be done immediately.
