asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Admiralty whether he is now in a position to say when it is intended to publish separate returns of the losses of Royal Navy, merchant and fishing vessels during the 1939–45 war.

Mr. Dugdale:

Yes, Sir. The return of losses of ships of the Royal Navy is now available for publication, and I am arranging for copies to be placed in the Library of the House. The return of losses of British merchant and fishing vessels during the 1939–45 War will be available for publication on 4th July, and I will arrange for copies of that return also to be placed in the Library.

Will the Parliamentary Secretary also arrange to have lists made of the ships of the Royal Navy which are still available for service?

Mr. Dugdale:

That is quite another question.
