asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer to what extent, since the repeal of the Trade Disputes Act, increased facilities have been given to members of the Civil Service who hold office in trade unions and professional and scientific organisations; and whether he will give particulars of the present position in that respect.
No further facilities have been granted since the repeal of the Trade Disputes Act. Up to 30 days special leave with pay, and further days without pay, may be granted each year to non-industrial staff for association purposes. Up to 52 days unpaid leave may be granted to industrial staff who are trade union officials.
