asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what steps are being taken to provide facilities for the quick freezing of herrings during the summer and autumn fishings.

Three factories for quick freezing of herrings will be in operation in 1947; one in Zetland and one at Fraser-burgh during the summer fishing season, and one at Great Yarmouth during the autumn fishing season.

Can the right hon. Gentleman give any indication of the capacity of these factories? Are they to be experimental, or will they be provided on an adequate scale?
