I beg to move, in page 125, line 3O, column 2, to leave out "subsection (3) shall be omitted;" and to insert: (3) The Minister of Transport or a local highway authority may be authorised to purchase land compulsorily for the purpose of providing any public right of way which is to be provided as an alternative to a right of way extinguished under this Section; and the Acquisition of Land (Authorisation Procedure) Act, 1946, shall apply to the compulsory acquisition of land under this subsection, and accordingly shall have effect—

1. (a) as if this subsection had been in force immediately before the commencement of that Act;
2. (b) as if this subsection were included among the enactments specified in paragraph
