asked the President of the Board of Trade if he is now in a position to make a statement on the surrender of clothing coupons for secondhand goods bought at bazaars and sales of work, in view of the numerous representations made to him on this subject.
Yes, Sir. I propose to exempt bazaars and sales of work organised for charitable purposes from the requirement to take coupons for sales of rationed goods and at the same time to discontinue advances of coupons for such sales against later repayment. I hope this concession will come into effect at the end of this month.
