asked the Minister of Food if he will make an immediate allocation of soap and any other urgent and necessary commodities to the local authorities in the flood areas for cleaning purposes necessitated by the effects of the floods on the houses, premises and goods affected.

Arrangements have already been made for a special issue of soap to local authorities for use in cleaning flooded houses and business premises. Other cleaning materials are not controlled by my Department.
