– in the House of Commons am 12:00 am ar 12 Mawrth 1947.
asked the Prime Minister whether he will appoint a Royal Commission to report on the social, economic and political conditions of Bermuda, and to recommend suitable reforms.
A petition has been received from the Bermuda Workers' Association for the appointment of a Royal Commission. As the House has already been informed, my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for the Colonies is in consultation with the Governor on the subject of the petition, and it is hoped to make a statement in the near future.
Is the Prime Minister aware that 45 of the first 46 Questions today were devoted to the Colonial Empire? Is that not proof that this House does take an interest, contrary to what is sometimes alleged, in the Colonies?
