asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies if a war damage claims commission has yet been appointed for the British Solomon Islands; from what source financial aid will be provided; how many claims have been submitted; and when it is expected that claims will be paid?

Secretary of State

Secretary of State was originally the title given to the two officials who conducted the Royal Correspondence under Elizabeth I. Now it is the title held by some of the more important Government Ministers, for example the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs.
