asked the Under-Secretary of State for Dominion Affairs whether he will provide statistics with regard to migration from this country to each of the Dominions during 1946; and whether any estimate has been made of the probable figures of migration to these Dominions during 1947.

The statistics desired by the hon. Member are not at present available. The movement of migrants to the Dominions during 1947 mainly depends on the availability of shipping, and no precise statement as to number is possible at the present time.

The Board of Trade hope to publish some emigration figures for 1946, but they are not, as yet, avail able.
