asked the Minister of Defence whether he will consider arranging for certain military training to be undertaken in Newfoundland, particularly in view of the wish to preserve Dartmoor and other beauty spots in Britain.

asked the Minister of Defence if he is aware that the Admiralty, the War Office and the Air Ministry each propose to requisition land in the neighbourhood of Scarborough; and, as this will seriously interfere with the developments and amenities, if he will arrange for a more equitable distribution of this burden.

The requirements of the Service Departments in this neighbourhood are at present being examined by the Inter-Departmental Committee, under the Ministry of Town and Country Planning, which is carrying out the review of Services land requirements generally. Full consideration is being given to the effect of any proposals on local developments and amenities.

Will the right hon. Gentleman do his best to see that the great attractions of Scarborough do not cause her to suffer unduly embarrassing attention from the Service Departments?
