With the exception of potash and compounds containing potash, I am not aware that there is any general shortage of fertilisers. My right hon. and learned Friend the President of the Board of Trade is doing everything possible to increase imports of potash, and I am hopeful that sufficient will be available to meet all permits that have been issued to farmers in time for the spring sowings.
