The development of British helicopters has been in train for some time, and several firms are actively engaged on this work. Three Sikorsky helicopters have been ordered for British European Airways Corporation from the United States of America through a British firm which, with the approval of the Ministry of Supply, has arranged to manufacture this type under licence in this country at a later date. The three machines will be used for experimental work in the first instance.
