asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Admiralty whether it is proposed to give or lend any more war ships to Powers which are not members of the British Commonwealth.

Mr. Dugdale:

No ships have been given to foreign Powers, nor is it proposed to give any in the future. Requests from foreign Powers for the loan or sale of ships which are surplus to our requirements will be considered on their merits.
