Oral Answers to Questions — Coal Industry. – in the House of Commons am ar 4 Gorffennaf 1939.
asked the Secretary for Mines whether he has now considered the report of the Glasgow Corporation transport engineers on the use of producer-gas; and, if so, what action does he propose to take and, particularly, whether it is intended to encourage the production of producer-gas and its use as a motive power?
By the courtesy of the Glasgow Corporation Transport Department I have been supplied with a copy of their report of one month's tests on a producer-gas driven omnibus. As regards the latter part of the question, I am not in a position to add to the answers which I gave to the hon. Member on 2nd May.
Is the Minister not aware that this bus under those conditions, was a great success in Inverness?
I shall have to inquire about that.
