Oral Answers to Questions — Transport. – in the House of Commons am ar 21 Mehefin 1939.
asked the Minister of Transport whether his attention has been drawn to the road near Largs, over the Heilly Brae, a well-known viewpoint from which travellers can obtain a panorama view of the Firth of Clyde and the hills of Argyll, which is too narrow to permit of motor cars stopping; and if he will consider making a grant to the local authority concerned to enable them to construct a parking-place for motor cars, and so allow hikers and others to enjoy the view in safety?
I understand that the Ayrshire County Council are considering the advisability of widening the Largs — Kilbirnie Road between Muirhead and its junction with Route A. 78 at Heilly Brae, and I shall be prepared to consider for grant any suitable scheme submitted to me.
