asked the Prime Minister whether, in view of the increased danger to vulnerable positions caused through the changed conditions of aerial warfare since the issue of the White Paper on the Channel Tunnel in June, 1930, and having in mind the bearing of the recent crisis on food and other supplies of great importance to this country, he will further consider the appointment of a Select Committee to consider the advantages which would now be obtained by the construction of a Channel tunnel to be used for urgent military and/or economic purposes?
