asked the Prime Minister whether the Polish Government have been consulted on the question of the retention of the League of Nations High Commissioner at Danzig; and what is the Polish attitude thereon?

Yes, Sir. I cannot, however, undertake to explain the attitude of the Polish Government.

Has the right hon. Gentleman had certain conversations with the Polish delegate at Geneva at which this matter was discussed; and what is to be the position of the League Commissioner and the Status of Danzig?

The latter part of the question raises rather broader considerations, and I would refer the hon. Member to the statement issued by the Committee of Three after their meeting at Geneva. With regard to the conversations I have had with the Polish delegate, I certainly kept in close touch with him throughout.
